got two plants this year growing in opposite directions. Both have been growing great, however one (Wallace) for the past week has been severely wilting during the day. I've experienced this in past years but this case seems more profound. every am however the leaves are up and perky again. I actually pollinated my first fruit this am on that plant. The only other observation that concerns me is that the furthest 4 to 5 ft of the main vine are more yellow than green. actually very yellow. In contrast all leaves are quite green. Any opinions much appreciated. Thanks!

You may have yellow vine disease if the tips of the vines become yellow and stunted in growth, then most likely you have it and their is no cure !all you can do is pull it. But wait for more opinions on hear before you end your season.

Some plants wilt (flag) easier than others if you've been having hot weather this may be the cause ,a misting system will help cool the plant .
Not sure about the yellow other than yellow vine disease or round up damage, yellow vine is fatal .

The excessive rain in the area probably has caused water stress on the roots which will also cause wilt with warmer temps. I see it on several of my plants in the middle of the day usually they are better in the evening. It will stop when they are fully grown out.

do you have squash bugs? sounds like symptom's they can cause. I would try to set a pumpkin. Yellow vine decline will stop any pumpkins on the same part of plant.

thanks to all! yesterday we had oppressive humidity with temps around 84. horrible day on the roof! expected to come home to see the Wallace wilted but to my surprise was standing tall. First day in about a week it has not been wilted. I did fertilize the night before but not sure if this could have helped. maybe all the rain we've been has been robbing the plant of nutrients? been having those rediculas monsoon events lately
