For those that didn't read my diary entry:

I came home from work on Friday to find that the deer (I have a very inappropriate name for them at this point) have eaten the growing tips of both main vines on both of my plants this year. I am disheartened; especially considering both plants looked so great this year.

I have decided to make an attempt at growing a secondary as a new main. My problem is that despite the main's being lopped off; it hasn't sped up growth on the secondary vines at all. One plant has been growing secondary vines at a moderate pace; the other plant is very slow going.

We have been getting a lot of rain lately and I have been watering on days where it is dry. I have been feeding Neptunes fish/kelp throughout the week and burying vines religiously. Before the heavy rains a few days ago, I spread a little Urea around the plants to kick them into gear with nitrogen. Nothing seems to be working. Leaves are beautiful, healthy, big. I don't see anything on the leaves that would lead me to believe there is a nutrient issue

At this rate it is going to take me FOREVER to get a secondary to take the place of the main that is now lost.

I can take pictures tonight if needed.

Thoughts?

Big city, The weed killer in the turf builder doesn't affect plants?..sounds interesting...farmergal, if the plants look healthy and the urea didn't boost them after a few days being rained in,,,,Sounds like all you might need is a dose of patience...

I think fertilizing the secondaries near your bite main would work, Foliar feed just one of them?
