hi everyone , does anybody had success pollinating with one day old male flowers kept in the fridge ..
my female opens tomorrow and theres no male in sight (ready)
i have two that are from yesterday

I think you are better off(or may have better luck) opening one that will open the next day. I pryed some open this year in the same position... pollen is not going to last 24 hrs imo

I've polinated with flowers a day old in fridge and it worked for me, go for it.

I think that the pollen can last a long time if kept cool. I did some looking on the web a while back. Didn't find much on Pumpkins but researches have frozen tomato pollen and used it years later. Also orchid growers have a lot of success storing pollen in refrigeration for weeks.

Pot heads freeze pollen, humidity plays a big role too and wet pollen is dead pollen some say.

I was using styrofoam cups over my flowers and a lot of the females flowers had water in them, I switched to paper sacks and cover with a tent if its going to rain
