instead of all those daily sprays what do you think of a cloth soaked with all the good stuff like pgr's, cytokines, kelps, kinetin, and ga's ..kinda like a wrap!.. Russ

What do you and Ron recommend Pap??? With a couple of WR under your belt surely you guy's have experimented with cell devision long before Robert Hooke...lol

please share your experience with cell division over the years with the rest of us BP growers?

aside from wiping the pumpkin down several times during the season with a disinfectant, plus keeping a white sheet over it on sunny days,i think if you let the plant and its root system take in and pass on what ever you choose to spray or drench with? that this would be the best way to get results from the feeding of that pumpkin.

Hey Donkin! You could go to denverpumpkins.com and look at their RAW soluble products. On my bushel gourd 2 DAP I foliar applied 1/2 tsp RAW Bloom to 1 gallon of water. At 4 DAP I mixed 1gram RAW humic with 2 tbs. Neptune Harvest hydrolyzed fish in 2 1/2 gallons of water and applied the drench in about a 36 square foot area around the stump. The humic acid apparently amplifies the effect of the hormones in the seaweed. At 5 DAP the bushel gourd began to put down roots at the leaf nodes which it had previously, to my knowledge, not done. I think the next plant I will do the seaweed/humic 2 or 3 days before pollination then the bloom 4 DAP. I do not know if this will have a positive impact on the cell division in the fruit. I do know I saw an incredibly positive effect on my pumpkin plant after a drench of RAW cal/mag mixed with RAW ominA (amino acids). I think 'wrapping' your fruit is probably a bad idea.

will the fruit and stem absorb?

If I was determined to wrap I would wrap as soon as I saw the female in the tip and discontinue the wrap on the female after 3 or 4 days? Yet perhaps keep the growing tip wrapped another 3 or four days? Too much of the hormones and you will burn up your stuff as cell division creates heat. So maybe just a few days on the emerging female and not later on the vine tip? I do not think it is a good idea to mess with a pollinated baby pumpkin.

if the fruit and peduncle will not absorb. Why spray with hormones? Calcium towels for example????

I am certain the fruit and peduncle will absorb but over time they become less permeable. So for instance a towel soaked with calcium would likely not have any effect after 15 or 20 DAP if ever.
