Was curious if any of you have had problems in the past with thee accurance of a vine tip ending in a leaf post. This is on the 1873 Steil. There is a side vine there and could it be turned into a main or is the plant for pollinating only or setting a Kin on a side vine. The plant was and still is growing very strong. A few days earlier I went thru and culled all the small kins off the side vines..DANG. Heres a pick, Thanks All for any advice!! Wish you Well this Season!! http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=239198

Just let that side vine take over, you won't know the difference in a couple weeks!

Follow-Up: I cut off that leaf post, late evening of the 13th and already the side vine is shooting straight forwards as the new main. Never thought it was possible, just hope it puts out a good female!! Your all correct, you can't even tell what took place ;^)
