Today is not a good day for gardens in Bliss. 50-60 mph winds- horizontal winds- rain- 1-3 inches so far-
tornado warnings-
I hop I have something left when it is over- I still have a few back-up plants-
Tomatoes can be replanted-
rest of today will tell the story-
I think my long gourds will make it-(crossing fingers)
My sweet potato cuttings should be ok-they are small-
sweet corn can be replanted-
I have extra onion plants-
Oh well-life in Wyoming County-
Today makes be believe in climate change!
I hope everyone else faired well.

It sure has been tough weather in this part of the country Bill. Batten down the hatches. Better weather should be coming.

Damage to several of my 1317 Clementz leaves. First secondary vines split. The rest of the plant is ok.

Two more plants leave the shelters tomorrow.

Winds gusted 40-45 miles at the homestead today. Scary.

Good luck with the rest of the season.

Don't give up yet. Last year I had 8"+ rain with the worst flash flood in 28 years, then 80 mph winds all on the last day of June and still got a state record long gourd and personal best field pumpkin. Your garden may still pull through.
