If you could have it any way, how many days after pollination would you want your plant deadheaded or all secondaries terminated? Aka, 1 DAP, 10 DAP 30 DAP etc...
I ask because I pollinated today at 10 feet and literally have a 15 foot plant with secondaries just now kicking in about 2 feet long each. Extremely wet conditions really slowed thing down. This is not "ideal" for enough plant, but if I were to catch the plant up by 25 DAP, would that be enough to still push the big weight or does rooting we can't see take longer?
Any input is appreciated.

I would also keep an eye on the next female. This one may or may not take with it being so wet, but what I'm saying is ,I would like to see some of the side vines buried and rooted to help push the fruit right away. As far as when to deadhead any vines, that is more of an opinionated question. World records have been broke with no deadheading of any vines. Or at lest one that I can think of. Lol. Just a thought from a amateur. Best of luck

Hey Luke, usually my plants are about 1/2 size when pollination is happening. As long as the fruit is 12-15 feet out on the main (yes it can be less) and you can continue to grow the secondaries behind the pumpkin...it should be all good.
Sometimes plants will stall out, sometimes secondaries will stop dead in their tracks once fruit are set and growing. I'm usually lucky and my plants continue on growing to full size.
Let it grow, and stop tinkering with it so much, buy an old Ford and start rebuilding it and stay outa the patch.

Thank you all for the post. It doesn't look like it took anyway. I never go with the pkns this early, but was hoping to be persuaded. I agree on a half size plant (at least), and I am about 30% at best.
Glenn, rebuilding is relative. I just put a cherry bomb on my old F150 if that counts. lol
