Many years ago I injected every leaf stalk with Bt to prevent SVB damage. Seemed to have good results. Didn't take long with just two plants. Has anyone tried this more recently? Would there be a better product to inject?

My kids play in the yard so the only thing I sprayed last year was daconil. When I started to lose leaves to the svb's I injected all the leaves along the main vine with sevin close to the bottom of the stalks. At the end of the season I cut them open and each had a worm in the bottom that was black mush.

What do you mean by "injection"? Physically with some type of needle or something else that I am not aware of? Curious

I've used systemics in the past, but this is just a hobby and I am not interested in killing bees and everything that flies into my patch. One year I found a dead bee on top on a 4"x 4" fence post next to the plant. Some growers have a fogger and a full chemical suit. Folks might be surprised at the mist that comes back from a simple pump sprayer. I'm not interested in nuking myself either. There is a lot of info about injecting bt on regular gardening sites, but I might try Sevin as mentioned above if it didn't seem to harm the plant..
