Is it just me or does it always seem to be the back up plant that grows that grows the best? I seem to go through this every year. The main plant very often falls behind the backup, causing me to have to make the frustrating decision
of which plant to go with. It has happened again!!

At least for me, the reason I plant a backup is to be able to get the best plant. It shouldn't be a frustrating decision. Is there a reason that you don't want to take the better performing plant?

Al that is a great idea, plant only backups! Also, I have plenty of plants.
cntryboy, I do want to grow the best grower, I just think that it would be awesome if the one that I believe has the best genetics, in my opinion, would be the most vigorous plant.

Sorry, I assumed they were the same genetics. We always plant the same genetics for the backup, that way we get the best plant for the genetics we want.

If its the genetics you want, and the plant is not damaged, down and doing well, go for it.

Yes Im with Cecil The backups should be the same seed. You cant really compare mixed plants.

I would plant the same seeds in the greenhouse if I had them. Unfortunately, the majority of the time, I am lucky to get one of a certain seed, or have paid a lot for a single seed.
Thank you for your responses, I appreciate them all.

My 2323 is going double, somehow planting two of these with the intention of pulling one just wasn't an option! Good luck Kathy I know how tough these decisions can be.
