Used foliar sprays last couple of years. Sprayed in the evenings when blooms were closed to limit bee exposure but didn't get the beetles already inside blooms. Saw Bayer advanced fruit and vegetable insect control and it looked interesting since it was applied to the roots to be absorbed by plant. Was concerned that bees would be exposed when they processed the pollen though. A little research shows that this would most likely be the case. What is a good method to control these persistent beetles without endangering your pollinators? Thanks.

Cover the pollinators with brown paper bag or plastic bag, spray away.

Table 26 under insect management is worth taking a look at.

As long as you are not relying on the bees to pollinate for you, removing the blooms before they bloom not only protects the bees, but also reduces a large attractant that brings in the cucumber beetles to begin with.
We are also considering trying traps this year....

Lures to last 3-4 weeks, can't hurt to try them.

If anyone uses the Cucumber Beetle traps, would you do a follow up post/review?

Garlic spray certainly wont hurt anything. I use it a lot and since starting have seen less bugs in general. But it is a preventative. I'd still pull unnecessary flowers. Traps sound like a great idea. Worst case scenario, if you use the garlic spray twice a week, you should have a mosquito free season. That alone makes it worth the investment.

Hopefully these traps are not like Japanese beetle traps. Supposedly they can attract beetles from around 1/4 mile away. These also use pheromones.
