I've been reading some posts from last year and noticed some growers crossing the Canadian U.S.A border with pumpkins to different weigh off sites.I didn't think this was possible.Do you just show up at border or is there other paper work that has to be completed first.Just curious.

I live right along the Minnesota/Manitoba border in Minnesota and I've taken my pumpkins up to Manitoba the last 2 years. Just show up with the pumpkin clean with no dirt on it and it won't be a problem, you don't need any paperwork. I know some Manitoba growers who come down to North Dakota each year and it's the same for them. The custom agents seem more interested in how cool the pumpkins look haha.

lol! I never thought it would be that easy. You can't bring an orange across but a giant orange kin, no problem.I might have to give it a try this fall. Thanks CBernstrom!

You can bring a pumpkin full of seeds across the border and back no problem, just don't bring an envelope full of seeds across or you are in trouble.

I have contacted the USA and Canadian sides and the only thing they mentioned was the pumpkin had to be clean with no dirt on the pumpkin or on anything that it is resting on.
