Farming- a bunch of catastrophies that result in a lifestyle

Go ahead, yuck it up. :) But: I have a 'closed ditch'. Ie, the only water that gets in it is rain water. It's between two sections of yard that I NEVER fertilize. No possibility of run off from farm fields or the like. So why is it so high in P? I had it tested because I noticed that flowers watered with it produced WAY MORE blooms than 'city watered' flowers. Incidently, I also watered the main pumpkin patch last year with it- same result- they produced way more males and females than the side patch which got watered by the city water. Where does all this P come from? We have low to average P in our native soil here, but nothing to account for this. It's also only the ditch water that is this way- the pond water has zero P in it. There are no fish in the ditch, but there an abundance of frogs....frog poop? Rotting grass and water plants? I'm curious if anyone might know.

You should monitor the ditch at night and see who´s "P"-ing into your water, LOL

After some digging...haha, I found the soil report from the USGS for my plot of land. It is something called 'Roanoke Soil drained' It is formed out of marine terraces, Marine deposits, and fluviomarine deposits. Ie, basically really old fish deposits. General PH for this type soil here was 4.5 and it has less than 1% organic matter.....hence all the mushroom compost, raising of patch, and raised beds you see in photos. There, your dirt class 101 for LB for the day. I'm sure you will all now sleep better. This concludes my question, as, I already answered it myself. Hahahahahahaha
