Wondering what some of you are using for sunburn protection. I lose alot of leaves every year to this. Would plastic with uv protection like they use in green houses work or is shading the way to go?

Harden them off on cloudy days, or slowly introduce them to the bright sun

For early transplants, I use white two and a half gallon buckets as a cover with door knob sized holes cut into it to allow some sunlight.

I use screen from Fruitshield Check it out on my screenhouse page very affordable.164 feet by 32 wide.it comes 24 feet wide also. You can also use it for hail protection & sun reduction..Cheaper then plastic if you compare the lifespan of both. Just fasten it to fence post across the patch and have it suspended over plant.

We have found that in our patch the 4th leaf back is the most susceptible to sunburn. Especially during fast growth. So we make a shade out of row cover (about 30%shade) or 50% shade cloth, to keep all of the growing tips covered back about 6 leaves. As the plant grows, we move the tip covers to keep the newest growth protected.

We have even done something like this before we put up the shade cloth that we can cover the entire plant with , but don't have a picture posted in our diary.
