This is a 2102 Meier that emerged with this spot rotted with the lining of the seed hanging from the spot. Does this look like disease or just an issue with the way it germinated. Also I was curious what does potyvirus looks like. Someone else had mentioned they had to throw out their seeds because of it.
Thanks, George Boyd

Pic is there now. Looks like cot damage to me. I wouldn't be worried about it as long as the first true leaf looks okay.

I agree with luke, as long as it doesn't get worse it is not a problem, the cots are just there to give the plant enough energy until it gets roots and true leaves.

In short this just happens and is not of any concern. There may have been a slightly underdeveloped portion in the seed or this was simply a small rot spot. No major concern as my guess is the main vine/first true leaf will be normal and in short while you will forget what the cotyledon leaves looked like.
