I am growing 2 plants in 25' by 25' layout. Would you grow each at 25" main vine with 6.25' side vines OR 12.5' main vines with 12.5' side vines. The latter would be more better for my watering layout.

Thanks

Home of happy lil plants

Grow them head to head so when crap hits the fan on one the other gets the space for more pumpkin.

Not if but WHEN

Reminds me I need to go plant some plants 35 ft across from the other one because I know how my luck is...

Luke, shorter main and longer secondaries are the way to go in your case and definitely in my case.

Last year our 1126 lb was at around 13' on the main but secondaries were at least 15' on both sides. Our 1124 lb was at 15' on the main and we allowed 20' secondaries on one side and 15' on the other side.

2 pumpkins over 1100 lbs in a patch that is 60' x 25'

Good luck!

Thanks for the input. I'm gonna go as suggested above. Plants are being transplanted tomorrow.

I let my main grow for the whole season. So they get to be very very long like 50 to 75 ft long at the end of the season I grow in 26 x 26 ft areas

I plant my stumps 6 ft apart on center

If they are 6 feet apart at center doesn't that shorten the 26 feet? I've never grown back to back at the main stem so anyone please elaborate. Thanks

Like this? An offsetting back to back

What if you tried back to back in the center of the patch with the mains going diagonally towards opposite corners? This would give you two triangular shaped plants with 17ish foot mains and long secondaries toward the stump with shorter secondaries the farther out you get.

Capt, I think that sounds best and using the back to back offset. Thanks those who replied to this thread.

I also have a walk way between the stumps approx 2 ft wide walk way... The walk way is not figured in my 26 x 26. Been working great ever since I went back to back
