No matter where it's grown I like the 2008 Neptune. Now it may not grow the heaviest in the world but in individual patches I suspect it will consistently be the heaviest. Logic: grown on the heaviest 1730 Werner to date and there have been some GOOD ones. Pollinated by the consistent leader of the pack 2009 Wallace. Could this cross contain a new set of "super genes" not already present in the 2009 and it's offspring?

Brother dave, The 1738 Barron is the same cross as the 2008. The 1738 was 11% heavy, the 2008 6%
The 1916 Barron is the reverse X and was 20% heavy!
So, guess what I'm putting is some dirt?

Well, I CAN tell you that Bill will be crossing the 2008 with the 2323 and that he will be planting no less than six seeds from 2000+ pumpkins. Go Bill Neptune!

A Barron seed is going in here also right beside the Neptune just in case I'm wrong. I had to pick one and on paper I'm leaning toward final weight over % heavy.

Cindy, those are first cousins. Folks say that ain't right no more even if they are purdy.

I'm with tumbleweeds, either of the Barron big pumpkins, which are reverse crosses, are my bet for not only going heavy but producing some big pumpkins.
