I was checking out some old posts.Heres the year(2013) I planted the 1495 Stelts that grew the 1317 Clementz,This was early May.I truly think that pumpkin would have been well over 1600 if my soil was right to start out.I did make some changes in 2014.only 2 plants per kin cave.The 2009 Wallace that year only got 300 lbs and then I grew another 300lber on after I blew up the first one with wacked out nitrogen.

My point being here you cant always judge a kin by the size of the mother & father.You have to know what the season was like,weather?soil?etc.The best genetics in giant pumpkins may never truly be found,There sitting in basement from a 800-1200 lb pumpkin somewhere that never was grown in true great soil or conditions.If you feel you have one of these by all means grow it.Your genetics maybe as good as anything out there.Keepem growing!Stay tuned to BP this weekend! At lease I have giant carrots going and watching them grow.0000002 of an inch a week is pretty exhilarating!!!!!!
