I'm not sure if this is a dumb question or not, so I'll ask...I took a soil sample in the fall, let it dry and put it in the bag where it has sat all winter.. Is that still good if I send it in?...or should I just wait til June when the ground thaws and do a spring test?...thanx

Porkchop back a few + years I was at a commercial growers conference where an agronomists was giving a presentation on growing field pumpkins for profit. I asked him if I could take a soil sample if the ground was frozen. He replied it will be hard but yes you can. I was exited to get my first soil test done so when I got home I hacked away and got my samples. Well the next day I was ready ship them I noticed my samples were nothing but mud. I shipped them out anyway. I called the lab about a week later to see if they had received them. They asked my they were so muddy, so I told them the ground was frozen. After a pause he said it will take awhile for them to dry out before we test them.
