I will be using drip tape for the first time in 2015. I'm just curious , how do you position your tape in proximity to the growing vines? Do you gradually lift the tape over your vines, or fonyou let the vines grow on top of the tape and cover everything with soil when vine burying? I would guess that you want the vines to run with the tape, but my vine pattern wouldn't allow this. Thanks.

put the tape perpendicular to the main so parallel to the secondaries. Put it down as the plant develops not before the plant gets there. You have a 3/4 inch main line running along the edge of the plot and add drip tape lines as the plants secondaries get close to the plots edge.

PG look in my diary from last year. I think I had a good picture. Basically the way cojoe said. I did buy the valve type connectors so I could turn lines on as the plant grew. I used drip works and just but a kit and a few add ons.

Thanks. what if your vine pattern involves curving your vines (like the pitchfork pattern)? My patch is 17 feet by 35 feet, so I would only have 8.5 foot side vines using the Christmas tree pattern. Thanks.

keep the drip tape spaced the same regardless. So youll end up crossing vines with a spider or pitchfork pattern. You want a consistent grid with the drip tape so you lay down water evenly
