Hi Kyle, I believe the New Mexico record is 448 pounds. It's a very difficult place to grow without a greenhouse to regulate the heat.

There are four of us growing - right now - in the Southwest Desert. Three in Central Arizona and one in Las Vegas. We are planning a weigh-off on Memorial Day Weekend. The New Mexico record of 532 was grown in Albuquerque in 2012 by Olin Zmarzly. You can email the Arizona Giant Pumpkin Growers at dnbaker@azgpg.com

I grew the 532 In Albuquerque,
I used shade cloth, but it was 70% under a tree.
This year I will use 40% with a patch 10 times the size.
You can send me an email if you want, It would be cool to see some other pumpkins in my area.
