City Farmer,interesting story. My grandparents were from Guelph. Will Taylor was a contractor, member of council, and owned the first automobile in Guelph. A hupmobile,so weak in power, it had to back up Eramosa hill. Jim

Great story. I don't drink beer very often, but if we are at a restaurant or pub, a Sleeman's cream ale really hits the spot. Love the old pics.

Linus I get totally!! But Strange brew was a spin off, of a TV show from Toronto called SCTV And they did a bit called The Great White north..With Bob and Doug Mckenzie.

Thanks for the input on my diary I`m glad you like the history lesson..

Jim, Eramosa hill is huge we use to pass cars with our bikes on that hill.. Sometimes the police would pull over people on bikes for going to fast!

Chris if you are ever in Guelph I`ll have a Sleeman beer with you in there!

Lol...i wish i knew about that back in 1999-2000 when guelph was the only place to go for a pumpkin seminar.i would have to leave at 5am to drive 4.5 hours to get their for the 10am start. Well now michigan has its own spring seminars and its only a one hour drive.so i guess what im saying is that its now a little to far to drive for some beer and entertainment but thanks for the invite lol....:~)

Great posts and interesting. Here's a tangent, but true story. I went to Ireland once (Missouri to Dublin), for just 5 days of my 37 years of existence... and the Guiness brewery was closed 2 weeks for remodeling. What kind of sign is that?
