I see we have a lot of traffic on the auction message board. Of all the ideas for adding a new board/ categories, perhaps there should be a board dedicated to hosting silent auctions. By reservation only, like the live auctions. The regular existing board would be used to post announcements and results only. This would keep clubs and individuals from getting bumped to the next page. Just a passing observation.

I saw the GWG's was from the 14th till the 18th. How about a little courtesy to let one finish before starting another. I have been expecting this to happen for the last couple weeks. I don't have a affiliation with either club it's just a thought.

Excellent idea Orangeneck. One board for silent auctions and they can be reserved by a draw like the regular auctions. The GWG auction got lost pretty quick. Too bad they cant start over.

Another observation is that clubs who reserve an auction night pay Ken for the privilege. However, some, if not most clubs, have very limited resources with which to raise funds, so I don't really care either way. I prefer the live auctions.

I think paying Ken for the privilege to reserve would be great. I don't think being on page 2 slowed the bids down any. We are just happy to be able to have our auction. Thanks

Even though it is not that hard to go to the next page(if people know there is something new on there to look at), I agree that common courtesy should prevail here.
Pushing someone off the page less than 90 minutes after their auction was posted (especially since the one that pushed the GWG off the page wasn't even going to start until the next day after it was posted) was certainly not courteous. There is enough time and space for everyone.
Another idea that may give some more visibility is if Ken could make the auction message board longer (more items per page). We have to scroll anyway, so if 100 items were displayed per page it would take longer to get pushed to page two.
I don't have an association to either club.

I don't think anyone got pushed onto page 2 intentionally. As Matt said, a lot of clubs out there, the page is just getting congested.

How about I create a temporary board for each auction? I would remove it when the auction is over. Then each group gets their own?

That's a great idea for sure, and at least the people posting the lots will have to pre book and not just post lots

That sounds great Ken ! When it is more work for you just let us know what would be fair for you to do it and the GWG would be happy to pay for it. I also think all clubs would feel the same.

I can move the existing posts to the new boards too. Let me put a little time on it this weekend.

This is why Big Pumpkins is what it is and one of the reasons why you should buy a premium membership to help keep it .

I am glad you all like it. Now, I just need the clubs to contact when the auction are over so I can remove the board. Also contact me for new boards to be setup.
