Pinnacle Peak

I like sitting on the edge of the garden on a summer evening with a warm breeze moving the pumpkin leaves. That always makes me happy.

I'm happy when the pollinated pumpkin takes off and then when it starts to colour up but ultimately I'm happiest when the seasons hard work, hope and anxiety is rewarded by the lifting the pumpkin

Its hard to beat going to the patch in the early morning....sun is rising, dew is on the leaves, its quiet and peaceful, and all seems right with the world.

It doesn't make me happy as such, but at the end of the season when weigh offs are finished and looking to next season knowing I can improve on a multitude of growing techniques.

Sitting next to the garden in the evening, in a chair next to my wife, while we drink a glass or two of wine. In the evening the robins and other birds land in garden and feed on bugs.

One of my favorite moments is when I see a big time seed like the 2009, etc break soil in my incubator! I check the incubator every few hours, can't stay away. What a great feeling to see the soil part. I also love measure time, especially when we get 40 or more lbs per day growth

It is our family tradition to bring them out of the field on Columbus Day and place them in front of our 1841 farmhouse. The real pleasure is to see the look and smiles on the faces after my wife does her intricate carvings.

When I turned 13, I grew like 3 inches that year. (Kidding) resisting to go fast and not care, I used slow and steady wins the race, and it seemed to make things go better.

Answering questions from non-growers... How many years did it take you to grow that pumpkin? What kind of paint did you use to get that pumpkin so orange?
