Don't bid. Buying seeds at auction is a waste of money aside from the fact it supports the clubs.

you won't go wrong with anything in the top 25 that's for sure.

Supporting clubs is what its all about.Without the clubs this wouldn't nearly be as much fun.

...indeed, these club-sponsored seed auctions are the lifeline of vitality for many organizations, which in turn send generous paychecks back home with growers on weigh-off day, not to mention buy them lunch and free education during the winter meetings and mail them reading materials thru club newsletters. (in many cases, club membership dues do not adequately fund club budgets)

Buying seeds at auction is not a waste of money...especially true if you are a grower that has ever benefited from the resources of a club/weighoff.

That said, I cordially invite you to the St. Croix Growers Association auction on Friday, Jan 30 for the opportunity to bid on a multitude of seed lots that contain rare top-shelf genetics, notably the 2328 Meier lineage:

Stevens/Hopkins crosses 2014:
1189 (2009 Wallace x 2328 Meier)
1127 (1623 Wallace x 2328)
1057 (1783 Wallace x 2328)
1053 (1791 Holland x 2328)
886 (2328 x self)

1781 Zywiec (1623 Wallace x 2328 Meier)
1873 Steil (2009 Wallace x 2328 Meier)
1832 Midthun (1779 Werner x 2328 Meier)

Buying club seeds is waste of money? Ouch!! So if you win prize $ at the weigh off where you reckon the money comes from?
The sedd I don't mind paying for is the 1947 Clementz.

I agree with Carl, anything out of the top 25 or even the top 50.But I surely hope I get to see the deep pockets come out for Beni's seeds.I wonder if any auctions will have those? (EGVGA?)

996 Haist or any squash that was selfed and went heavy of those crosses and or the 1264 Pierpont selfed. 1609.5 Pugh 19% heavy and is the 1813 Northrup x 2009 Wallace

1625.5 Huydic, Same cross as the 1985 Miller. Both plants had extreme vigor. 1725 Harp blew her BES a day 38-39 at an EST 1002lbs when she hit 50lbs a day. My 2009, I learned a valuable lesson with. I backed off my chemical drench program and lost a few hundred pounds. But both plants where amazing. 2009 Wallace had a main vine as thick as my leg. Real potential in this seed. REAL POTENTIAL IN THIS SEED. 1985 Miller only had pollen from a 1725 Harp, My Harp was out of control....
