and if so ,was there exceptional weight differances, leaf size, vine size, roots etc.. also how many ppm when you sprayed 10 or closer to 200 (per liter) or more? thinking of trying this next growing season. If you dont want to post you can e-mail me at JGirg1@aol.com thanks john

Yes, going to try again this year and use a stronger alcohol to disolve the crystals. Rye didnt work well

Used commercially to chemically thin certain fruit crops allowing for bigger fruits. Causes elongation at internodes and not so sure it will help pumpkin growers that only allow one fruit per plant anyways.

ga3 is gibberilic acid,a plant growth enhancer, used in grape farming, cherry trees, rice, citrus and lots more, flowers ,etc....I think the main objective is to get more blossems, slightly larger fruit, leafs ,roots etc.(still doing quite a bit of reading on this)from what i,ve read so far its used in extreamly small amounts as a folier spray.I dont know what the outcome would be on AG,s.Was looking for input

To my knowledge Scott is right in that Ga3 is probably a poor choice of PGR. Perhaps forchlorfenuron would be a better avenue but I have used neither on pumpkins.

I use this stuff to germinate old seeds, BUT you better be right on with your mix because in my playing around with germinating, I could get some real distorted plants with too much Ga 3

Yep I used it to germinate both of my 220 DeBaccos this year. I work with PGRs all the time doing micropropagation, and I would NOT use this on a mature plant. If you want to see the effects of gibberellins watch your male flowers next year. You will how the flowers grow 3 to 4 inches the day before they open, thats GA3.
GA3 completely reorients micro-tubules, thus decreasing structural strength. It will increase internode length, petiole (leaf stalk) length, decrease vigor/number of secondary vines and promote parthenocarpy (seedless fruit).
If you want to spray hormones use cytokinins such as kinetin. These compounds are the fountain of youth for plants. They promote cellular division, and will inhibit senescence.
Auxins will cause cells to swell, but it also causes senescence by promoting ethylene production.

ga3 was a hot topic around ten or so years ago. i dont believe it was any smoking gun though. not on our radar because it can cause a lot of malformed pumpkins, etc if not carefull --also even when used correctly no great results were ever found. pap

i agree with Logan's comments. its only real practical application in our hobby would be to facilitate germination in age-risk seeds.
I also agree that auxins and cytokinins may have a place in our future, but the jury is way out on how much and when to use these substances.
I foliar applied the product "Ascend" this year and I believe it contributed to premature senescence. there's simply no evidence out there how much to use and when to use it. Spray and pray may have limited my ability to get a fruit to October.
Check out "Seacrop". its a unique blend of seaweed extracts that have closer to physiological levels of cytokinins.

Seacrop16 is an interesting product and is made by North American Kelp. I buy a 50 lb. bag of kelp from them every year. At the beginning of 2014 I inquired about buying Seacrop16 but was told that the minimum was 5 gallons. Too much because for my 2 patches the recommended amount would be roughly 2 ounces per season. A little goes a long way. The nice folks at North American Kelp suggested I buy Seacom PGR from Saltwater Farms. This is another Maine company. My guess is Saltwater Farms is a repackager of the Seacrop16 although no one would tell me that.
