I owe a lot to this site. Not only have I have gotten the thrill to have people come up to me amazed to see such and amazing fruit and say HOW! did you do it, and of coarse IS IT REAL!! I have had the excitement to get the Best seed from the best grower and was in awl of there generosity. And best of all a whole new group of friends. I have even grown to be more thick skinned, here and in my life. I do have hero's on this site not only for there huge leaps in the pumpkin world. But mostly for the championship character of so many, no mater the size of the pumpkin.

Love this site.
A little respect and tolerance for other people's opinion goes a long way. I find that reading a lot of the posts can tell you a lot about what people are meaning when they reply to a new one. There are times i see a post and wonder why it upset anyone but it did.I do hope everybody feels welcome to post their opinion even if it might not be mainstream. You can dis-agree in a respectful manner.
But don't drink and type.

I'd be great full too if I grew a monster like that. That's top 2 in looks and size I saw this year.

I would be amiss if I wasn't thankful! Surprisingly over my goal, and beyond my efforts! Thanks Ken, and our BP community!

In 2001 i wanted to find out how to grow a pumpkin, I had recently retired from the military after 21 years service, I wanted to spend some time with my son in the garden after being deployed so often.

To make a long story short I found this website, and learned how to grow a big pumpkin, even when I am not a very good student, I consider myself to be a professional AG newbie. Hey, everyone can't win.

I remember the days when Ken collected seeds from growers, put them up for offer here to other growers, and made sure we all had seeds to grow.

Ken and his website are as important to our hobby as any other historical event in the giant pumpkin growing history.

Thank you Ken I hope to be a proud member of your bigpumpkins growing community for many years.

ill state the obvious- without bp the hobby would still be in the dark ages. why? because its the new/newer growers that find this site who have become a big part of todays hobby growth.
even the gpc and other great organizations would suffer if bp was left to falter.
thanks a heap ken
