I did not have a large seed count in my 1103. Most of the seeds I have look like the two in the link below. The seed's shell is not complete at the ends. Some have more white area than others. I am looking for any suggestions for what caused this. Is this due to a specific nutrient deficiency? It can't be an issue with maturing time. The pumpkin was pollinated on July 10 and picked on October 10.

Any ideas? I am going to try germinating one. I am not sure if this has impacted their viability or not.

milford, CT,

The last few years I have seen that as normal...They germinate just as well as complete seeds. If you are concerned germinate some that you think are marginal..That will give you a sense of what to expect. Mark

I'm glad to hear others have had the same kinds of seeds and still had success getting them to grow.

Thank you for your replies.

This year, I started about 10 seeds like this from a pumpkin grown in 2007 and they all germinated.
