Everywhere there are growers

The contest for 2014 has concluded and Team-Pumpkin salutes all those that participated. We hope you all had fun and perhaps even learned a few things about these plants that you can use in your full size patches. It is amazing what the Atlantic Giant can do even in a limited space.

The contest began with 27 growers representing 4 countries and varying levels of experience. As easy as it may seem to complete the contest several growers reported a variety of season ending problems. 9 growers (at least one from each of the starting countries) were able to overcome the obstacles and get one to the scale.

The first place winner is Matt Radach (Captain97) with an amazing 814.5 pound beauty that also won a Howard Dill award. His well-documented diary is worth a read for anyone how would consider the contest in the future.
