Sounds too good to be true, but I really think that it might work with C. ficifolia. I planted one seed at the edge of the garden in non-tilled soil. The plant grew to a size of nearly 75' x75'. It grew right out over the lawn and fences covering everything. I am not kidding. It actually picked up speed in September and October. It was killed last night with our first frost. When I get my diary updated I will post a link to it here. The C. ficifolia might well be a bigger problem than the knotweed we are trying to kill.

That's funny, a new fungicide that I used last year (Regalia) is made from Giant Knotweed.
