Some of the relatively small (even though pretty big) pumpkins from "who the heck is this?" growers or from "how on earth could this fruit grow on such a small plant?" background probably bear genetics which exceed the potential of the seeds out of 1700+ pounders grown by growers who grow them that big in a rather regular manner.

1245 Berard dmg(2009 selfed) could be good.Grew a 1900 LBer from what seems to be limited planting. Sold on Howard Dill at the big price of 2 for $16.00. Probably won't sell that cheap this year.
