I always tell growers. If you want to make money you should get a part time job or a better job.

This is a hobby, And all hobby's cost "Money"

Amen Glenn. There ain't enough prize money in ANY weigh-off to make up for what one has invested in time and materials. And it IS a hobby, albeit a very competitive one.

Money and attention are part of it come weigh off time. However watching them grow has always been why I do it. Bubba at least put a keg in yours if its going to stay on the porch.

I just enjoy the look on little kids faces when they first see the pumpkin and their parents too.It is a great chance to meet new friends and old as well.I do like the crowds of folks that show up to the event of the year and am proud to be a part of all the experience.
