It is that time of year when there are giant pumpkins are hitting the scales and are still in the patch yet to be weighed. I am seeking to attempt to preserve the best of the best plant material over the winter. So, if you have a plant that you think has a top-10 potential please let me know so I can pass on the procedure for shipping cuttings. It is not a hard process just requires some specific steps. You do not need to ship any soil or even a vine that has roots, I just need an actively growing vine tip that is about 12”-18” long.
One limitation is that the material must be in the USA as the shipping time required from outside the states makes the time to long for the material to survive. I have tried it in the past and it has not worked out.
To all of the growers that may be in this top-10 category I can assure you that your identity will be confidential, it just helps me if I can space out the influx of cuttings as I have limited space in my propagation chamber.
As a teaser, I already have already received cuttings from two different plants and I welcome any others. No guarantees (expressed or implied) the cuttings will root or I will have the space to keep them, but I just wanted to remind everyone that I am now taking cuttings from this years pumpkin crop.
Best of luck to everyone at the scales!!! (Even if your pumpkin is not in the top-10)

Hey Matt, I was thinking it might be cool to see a super heavy (+25 or more) crossed with one of the top 10. I'm sure we can expect some great crosses from you this winter either way. Good luck!

The winter breeding project has really helped advance the AG lines, I still feel the best is yet to come with these winter grown seeds.
