@Donkin: This was a Flakkee carrot and I wouldn´t want to eat one (neither the whole carrot nor half such a thing), they aren´t too tasty. Had some Bangor carrots as well, and they are gone now (they were slightly smaller than the Flakkee ones, but extremely yummy).
@LB: You should know that the Flakkee carrots will be food for my guinea pig during the next weeks/months, and therefore I haven´t fed any such thing (which you might think of) to the carrot, simply because I don´t want to risk that my guinea pig´s feet can´t touch the ground for an hour.

BTW, in Germany some of the N+P+K(+S+B) fertilizers are called "Blaukorn" which basically means "blue pellets".
