I'm thinking of chopping up my pumpkins and burning them and the vines/leaves and telling the ash into the soil for next year. Thoughts??

they take a long time to dry out and even when they look fairly dry they smoke like hell, but I did it 2 yrs. ago and things were fine.

Not having disease issues mine all go on the compost heap and being mainly water soon disappear. A 400 sq ft patch of plant soon disappears into a 100 cubic foot compost patch
