My tomatoes were hit hard by the blight. As I was getting ready to clean garden and plant cover crop- I noticed the vine tips are now covered with fresh green growth. Any explanations?

Hi Bill, to the best of my knowledge and experience with late blight ( I have had it twice.) I do not believe that it can recover from it. I am not saying that it is impossible because I have seen just about everything, and am not surprised by things anymore. I guess a question that you would need to ask yourself is; Was it late blight or could it have been another disease? Late blight is pretty distinctive and it is not easily confused with anything else. Yet many growers do seem to mention "blight" and are referring to early blight, which is not a major concern when compared to late blight. WIth late blight it is usually game over. Devastation.

There are a couple late blight resistant varieties out now. I have grown one called 'Defiant' and it is a nice tomato. Not a big one, they are about the size of an 'Early Girl.'
