I am happy for everyone! Starting to feel left behind. 2 years of failures. Took the year off( best weather ever). Have a new patch ready to go but what's the point. I live where it floods 1 day, 100 the next, 30 + mph winds almost every day. Tornados, hail, frost, drought. 90's and 30's in the same day. Everyone has 2000+ pumpkins. Never will happen here. Need to retire or move I guess. I have a few 2009 Wallace seeds. I guess I will just eat them. I heard they are delicious. Lol

Disclosure: I really do not have a bunch of 2009 seeds and I will not eat them. Do not try this at home.

I live in Montana and I feel your pain.I have had a personal best this year I set at the 415 lb mark and am just over 600 lb on this same pumpkin. This was a seed I really didn't want to plant but stuck in my 200 square ft patch anyhoo.Well its my best grow ever and have plans for just one next year but don't give up.Right now I am happy just to set my own records and not stress about the world records.Life is a learning process and so is giant pumpkin growing.Have fun with it.

Well said slim! We may not live in world record areas but it is still fun. And we get to meet a lot of great people.

The fact that your still here means you still desire to grow. See you in Stillwater?

I promise. Not sandbagging this year. Mostly mad at myself. In all my years growing this years weather has been the best. I just feel like I missed an oportunity. I will have to wait another 15 years to get weather like this year.
