Bold assertion, I know, considering it has not yet captured the #1 TTA award. Read on please...

#3 in 2010. #2 last year. Getting closer. The event's mission is to be recognized as the #1 site in the world. By all metrics, not just its TTA.

Nestled on the bank of the St. Croix River (a national scenic waterway) in the historic town of Stillwater, MN (the state's oldest city), during peak fall color (the river cliffs are painted in an amazing spectrum of fall hues), you'd be hard pressed to find a more picturesque location for a giant pumpkin weighoff.

The event draws 10,000+ fall enthusiasts, not to mention a gathering of the upper-midwest's most accomplished growers. Local food vendors galore, a chili cook-off, wine & beer tasting, kids activities, and more. A pumpkin drops from 80 feet at the conclusion of both Saturday's and Sunday's events.

Saturday is weighoff day, where a prize purse of $20,000 is given away. Sunday is regatta day. 4 paddlers race down the St. Croix in their pumpkin boats for bragging rights.
