As the weighoffs approach I would like to make something absolutely clear. The winning pumpkin at Bengtson's will be retained at Bengtsons Farm after the weigh-off for the entire month of October and then I retrieve the seeds and George J will dry them and ship them to grower. The only exceptions will be if one of the pumpkins weighed at Bengtsons ends up being a top three in North America and invited to N.Y Botanical Gardens once those 3 are determined later in October. These rules are established by the Bengtson's and it is what it is. I just want to give fair warning so there are no hard feelings or controvesy the day of the weigh off. Thanks, Jeff Shenoha

this was last years prize list Mark. We havent finalized this years payoff with more sponsorship meetings this week but will hopefully be very close to this list from last year. I will post in the weighoff message board the finalized prize list once completed within the next 2 weeks.

due to some sponsors backing out we have to reduce and adjust the weigh off prize structure this year. The Bengtsons graciously provide the first place prize of $4000. second place will be $1000 third place will be $500 fourth place will be $300 fifth place will be $200
Howard Dill Award will get $50 and a the GPC Plaque.
I just wanted to put this out as I have had multiple inquiries on prize structure. There is still a possibility that more prize money will be added. We will make changes if the prize money increases and post this if so, but for now we wanted to be fair that everyone knows so they can plan accordingly to which weigh off they decide to bring their pumpkins too. Thanks, Jeff Shenoha
