Have four large pumpkins ranging from 700-1000 each. How long after the rind hardens does it continue to grow? Our annual festival is in 28 days. Thanks for your help.

That depends on weather and plant health. Sometimes AGs develop the first scars on their skin after day 40, day 50 or something like that but they still continue to grow until day 90, day 100. Keep the plants healthy, let the plants turn into a jungle now and don´t step into the plants (weeding is prohibited now, soil compaction and damage to the already established leaves will have more negative impact which probably cannot be over-compensated by what you actually wanted to do).

We regularly have a 120 plus day pumpkin at weighoff day, and then they sit in the yard for another 60 or so before they freeze. If they are healthy and shaded, they will be fine.
