Has anyone ever kept track these two ratio's? I have searched the old benchmark data base trying to find the most excessive ratio's.

The largest SS to CC I have on file is 78% very old data.
The largest EE to CC is 65% very old data.

Is there any correlation of fruit with higher percentage ratio's? Heavy? Light? or does this mean nothing at all?

Most if not all appear to go heavy from what I have reviewed.

I remembered this tidbit Russ:

I really haven't thought about it much (mathematically, anyway) since that original discussion.

Ah thanks Andy. Nice link. How did you ever find that?

That comment seams to back up my thoughts too.

Have one that is a huge ball growing at a steady ratio of .41 which is
Far Lower than Eaton liked. With a SS to CC of 78%. It's not a wheel, more like big ball.

I hope it's not a dogs breakfast come weigh-off.

Nice find Andy. Pulling out the 14 year old post.

I poked around this a little when I was making the chart before the 2013 season. Like you, I was thinking maybe one of those ratios (SS:CC, EE:CC, SS:EE, SS:OTT, etc.), might tell us something about heavy vs light. I didn't find much that was convincing, but maybe some slight trends, which wouldn't be to useful on an individual pumpkin basis (where it would be needed). It's well within other noise for sure.

I hadn't even considered the change over time aspect. When I look at my personal OTT numbers from this year those ratios do change through time. I'm not sure of the implications of that off the top of my head, but I'm sure it complicates things.

It is intriguing though. I may look into it more after this season if I have time. If you have any breakthroughs, I'd be curious to know.
