Anyone ever hear anything about once a pumpkin reaches 20 + days it starts growing more? Fact or Fiction and what about nutrients backing up so to speak from the tip of the vine to assist pumpkin health/growth? John Hoepfner Appleton, WI

They can keep ramping up all the way out to D30 or more depending on weather / growing conditions.

Nobody really knows if the plant past the pumpkin is a true benefit to the weight of the pumpkin.

Definitely fact. Its different depending on climate but for me the best days as far as pounds per day are day 30-50.

To all of you thanks....appreciated that news...but WI does have a point Nobody really knows what a business we pumpkin growers are in Talk about a Cr-p shoot....But i still think that 100 to 120 days is a heck of a lot to ask of a pumpkin....and talk of strain and wear on the pumpkin grower not to mention contests to make...indeed something else. I f I do make it to full term with my plant I am definitely going to write a story about it....I have been trying to grow a respectable for 8 years to no avail bummer indeed
