I have two pumpkins that put on some rediculous size the last two days! I don't know what happened to cause the huge increase is size compared to the last few weeks but it's got me worried... What should I do/avoid to help prevent a split?

Water...keep the moisture level as consistent as possible. Don't be afraid of irregular use of overhead sprinklers, uncover vines if you're afraid of vine rot/disease issues. Use sulfur to dust, and cut back on your fert app rates when ideal weather is expected. The guys that keep them held together are doing so by having consistent/even growth rate. Best of luck to you!

It is part of the game...Dave Stelts once said if you are not blowing them you are not growing them...or maybe it was that Rose Guy

Deformed lobes are a factor too. Sometimes they can grow big, other times deformed are prone to splits.
