Aug. 14th lost one at est.996, Oh well I've blown more than I've brought to the platform. After about 3.5 in. of rain it accelerated growth and a 1 in. split. I carefully slid a wire up to a foot into the split and no resistance. Warwood, WV

Sorry to hear that. We lost our only squash yesterday after a decent rain the day before & a cold night. We took off the blankets on the fruit to warm up it up in the sun. About 1 hr later, it split open a hole big enough to see the whole cavity. Another one bites the dust. Only 2 now left for this season. Good luck the remainder of the season. Jane & Phil
