I know someone who grew one around 36% over the chart. I do not have a picture though.

There was one in Washington at +40% a few years back.
It's always seemingly easier to go huge % heavy on the smaller stuff. Not that sub 1000 is small, but it's smaller than 2000.
I remember the 1544 Revier throwing many in the huge % heavy, but those were all around or under 1000.
So taping sub 1000 can be up to +40%. There have been a couple 1500#ers in the +25% range. Grown by Quinn and Kevin Marsh if not mistaken. Maybe a couple others.
Then the true world class top tier stuff maxes out at about +15-+17%.

Heaviest % all pumpkins = 201 Swanson 2011 59.5% heavy Heaviest % over 500# = 905 Hain 2011 49.3% heavy Heaviest % over 1000# = 1162 Midthun 2010 46.3% heavy Heaviest % over 1200# = 1355 Kilburn 2009 34.7% heavy Heaviest % over 1400# = 1404 Bryson 2010 25.7% heavy Heaviest % over 1500# = 1582 Werner 2011 24.7% heavy Heaviest % over 1600# = 1684.5 Delany 2012 18.0% heavy Heaviest % over 1700# = 1810.5 Stevens 2010 17.5% heavy Heaviest % over 1900# = 1985 Miller 2013 10% heavy
That 1162 Midthun was a selfed pumpkin and the records don't show that anyone has ever grown one. That could be an interesting one to grow if there are any seeds out there somewhere....

Growth this year is not as good with OTT's down so the above stats fill me with some hope (very long shot)
