If main and pumpkin aren't damaged it can be rebuilt. I had a storm hit me a couple year ago and was able to rebuild plant and got a good pumpkin from it. I wish you good luck I k ow it suck when thing like this happen

Sorry to hear that, Andy. I was spared the hail but lost my biggest to a blossom end split this morning. Not a good day for the Jamestown guys. I agree with Dwight, though, you should be able to get some more growth if the main and pumpkin are fine. Don't give up yet.

These plants have remarkable abilities to recover from tremendous damage. I thought I lost my entire patch to a fast moving flash flood on June 30, but 2 plants that still had roots attached survived. One is even doing so well that I'm hopeful of a personal best from it. Give your plant a couple weeks and see what happens.

I seem to remember a WR fruit surviving an early hailstorm.

I was thinking about you guys when I heard Jamestown had a big hail storm. Don't give up on the greenhouse plant, all it takes is 1 and the way this weather is you never know.

Is the pic in your diary after the storm? If so, that doesn't look too bad at all. It's bad when the vines are severed in half and leaves are in a 1000 pieces and look like shredded lettuce. I think you'll be fine.
