Hi, A friend said she had white spots on the pumpkin and the next day the pumpkin was white with some yellow on the ends.

sounds like a possible abort. If the plant contracts a virus prior to hitting 300 lbs or so it is very likely to abort.Since I quit smoking the virus in my patch has greatly reduced.Tobacco moasic is pretty common.

I had this happen after a very hot day. I had a tarp over my fruit and it was in contact with the skin. I believe it just got too hot.

kathy---never use a tarp ( unless your protecting from the rain ) especially on the hot days. use a white sheet to protect from the sun. pap

Pap, that was the last time I ever used a tarp on a warm day. Only when it is cold or raining. That was a hard learned lesson.
