Hi,
What do you use to put under the growing pumpkin? I know some use fine white sand, others styrofoam.
Mine are currently lying on shortcut grass(part of my lawn).

I use mill fabric and sand on top, which is a thick woven plastic material that is porous for drainage. You could try some ply wood with holes drained into it with sand on top. There is no one answer, but get it off the grass at a minimum. You don't want water to pool and not drain underneath or else you'll get rot.

I place 4 inches of sand under mil fabric with a fine layer of white washed play sand on top of mil fabric.. helps with drainage and also aids in the ball bearing action...
