My 1596 Werner got a 1.5 inch blossom end split, above the blossom, 4 days ago at 25 DAP. So far is has not gotten any bigger and it has healed. I have another kin set which is 18 days behind that one. I'm curious if other people have had similar experiences with this same seed and what experiences others have had in general with this same situation. Should I cut the big one and hope the second set doesn't do the same thing, continue with the first set because if it hasn't cracked now I should be okay or another scenario? Thanks for any help/advice

I have a 1596 at day 34 and it is about 310 pounds. Not the best numbers but its not doing bad. It is doing about 15 pounds per day. I have noticed no flaws with mine. MNFisher is right, pictures would help.

I grew the 1596 Werner last year and had a blossom end split happen at DAP 21. Your looks like a mirror image of where my split happened. It ran from the opposite side, from the 1 to 2 o'clock position and got worse as the season went on. yea I was in denial and hoped it would heal. The split eventually spread from the 12 to 5 o'clock and went all the way through. I kept it sealed once I knew it was through to the cavity. Drywall mesh tape dipped in Durhams Rock Hard putty did the trick. There were no other pumpkins to polinate, so better a damaged pumpkin than no pumpkin at all for me.
