I recently have received a tissue test on one of my plants that has proved a bit more difficult to interpret than others that I have taken. The main problem is that calcium is in the low to deficient range (1.45 percent). On the other hand, nitrogen is high (5.17 percent). The problem with this is that my source of calcium is calcium nitrate, which, if added to help with the calcium deficiency, will also raise nitrogen. Can I add calcium nitrate without worrying about nitrogen being too high? Thanks.

No, Don't use Calcium Nitrate as your source of calcium anymore....Get Biomim Calcium.

If your plants taking in high nitrogen then it has less ability to bring in calcium and other cations. Its all about balance.

What did you expect? Calcium is not very mobile in plants which is why if you give them a very light Calcium nitrate spray over the leaves the Calcium goes exactly where you want it.
You put all of your feed ,in pellet form with a little extra for good measure on as a top dressing a week or so ago!
What’s the point of keeping posting and asking for advice if you’re not prepared to take it?

Keep the questions coming Ash. If it wasn't for your questions I wouldn't be learning from the responses. I sometimes ask the same Questions too.

Lol @ Chris.

Ian, please don't let this circumstance stop you from passing on bits of information and details that from your experience will help. I have not yet tapped into your knowledge base, and certainly hope you are open to helping others when and if we need it.

I'm pretty much done posting to the individuals that are just fishing for the "magic bullet" or shortcuts to their own research.

Take care, live your diary/Glenn
