I got a 1625 garner going that is having very low weight gains...day 23 and its only doing 8lbs a day. The plant seems to be very healthy. What could be causing these low weight gains and what can I do to pick it up a little

It has been unusually cool here, so I bet it is even cooler 100 miles north. Pumpkins put on growth at night, and they don't like to grow when the temp hits the upper 40's to low 50's. Hopefully when it warms up you will see improved growth. Plus day 23 is plenty early in the growth cycle.

We even felt the cold here in lower Midwest from the "artcic blast". Growth went from 5 inches a day to 2. I'm at day 22 and hope it picks back up when regular July weather starts again this weekend. I can't ever remember it being this cool in July (high of 80), and really gets amplified since I grow in shade. I had to get out my winter ski gear to work the patch.

It's too cold....period.
I'm sure someone has something decent in this area, but in these cold years I've never had everything grow fast. On hot years I've had everything grow fast.

Toss in a soil thermometer and see where you're at down a foot. My soil is super cold and still soaked deep down. Also any N before or near Polly+ might have confused the plant. I think there's still a pile of ice under a pine tree, smh

I did give the plant N because of the nitrogen deficancy...shot I give it somthing high in calcium and potassium to help fruit growth?
